First Full Week of Third Grade

We've just finished our first full week of third grade.  We have had many different fun activities to get to know one another over the first 8 days of our new class.  I've listed a bunch of the activities below...

    My favorite activity was "Musical Laps!" It was fun to see you beat gravity. It was also fun to see gravity win when you all fell down laughing together.

    Dear Ms.Laquqy my favorite thing to do in class was the Eggbert
    progect.It was really fun when the eggs cracked.I really liked it.

      I am so glad you enjoyed that project. It was a project to work on cooperating with others. Do you think your team cooperated well in planning how to keep Eggbert safe? What did your team do? How did your team work together?

      Dear Anh & Amy,

      I am so glad that you enjoy "Golden Time." I love celebrating each week getting our work done by having free time to be with our friends and learn through our own choice activities.

      Golden time will happen every Friday! So you're really lucky. Now we just have to figure out how we can complete all our class work and homework on time to enjoy the Golden Time.

    My favorite activity was "Fruit Basket".I really enjoyed fruit Basket.I like when we moved to other chairs and it looked like everyone had fun! -Katia

      Dear Katia,

      What I liked best about "Fruit Basket" was learning about the many similarities we had in our class. It is a great game to look and see how many people share similar qualities and to learn about one another.

    Egbert was my favorite activity because it was fun when the egg broke apart.
    I liked the part when we build the nest for the Egbert.

      I wonder who wrote this comment. Creating a nest was clever--someone must be nature smart in your group to think about how animals with eggs keep their eggs safe in a nest.

    My favorite activity was the"Egbert Project" because I loved to see people make a save envoirment to protect Egbert and go out and see how it worked and as soon as the eggs broked we maked an extra damage for the eggs. It was really funny.

      Dear Sun Hyung,

      I was so surprised by how well our eggs held up! I thought that they would break much more easily. I think the teams of students were clever and creative and that kept Eggbert safe.

      What was your teams idea for creating a safe environment? How did your team work together? Would you do anything differently if you had another project like Eggbert?

    I liked wen we did musical laps and when we all fell down. It was fun to see wen gravity won. I liked it a lot.

    My other best activity was the Musical laps.Because we had to stop when the music stoped. And then we had to sit in each other! It was so funny! And also, Gravity won us to five to one! I guess everyone had fun because if we lost our balances, and we started to fall on each other. The reason that I realized our class had fun on Musical laps was that as soon as we fell, everyone started
    laughing on the floor!

    It was hard to make a safe envoirmint to Egbert right?
    I think everybody was thinking that all the activity was hard.Right?

    One oe my favorite games was fruit basket.Because it was so much fun.So this is what it is.So what you have to do is sit in charis in a circle.But one person does not have a chair.And that person stands in the midlle.And they hav to say somthing like if you have brown hair stand and change seats.But if you dont stand up and change seats.And also if you say fruit upset then everybody changes seats.And when you do change seats one person will get stuck in the midlle just says something else.And the next person just says somthing else.And you just keep going on and on.

    My favorite activity also was the fruit basket.Because we had done in the languages in second grade. The children liked it. I guess. And so I was really suprised that we are going to play fruit in friday. The other thing that was amazing was that we did fruit basket on our classroom. Because in first grade and second grade we only did the fruit basket in languages. So this is how it goes. A person is in the middle and the other classmates are in chairs. The person in the middle says something like who has a yonger brother! Then all of the people who has a yonger brother runs to get a new chair. And even the person who was in the middle runs to get a chair. And if someone don't have a seat, then that person starts with a new kind of that things. And also, you can say this" FRUIT BASKET" then all of the people need to stand up and find for a new chair.
